HAND- Everybody's Own- (SWITZERLAND- 1972)- GP1018LP-
" Everybody's Own" is the extremely rare, only record by the 70's Progressive Folk/Rock band, " Hand". Recorded in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1972, it highlights the timeless compositions of Marc Osborne and Tony Angier. Written and performed when most band members were still in their teens, it blends the characteristic sounds of the British Folk Revival as represented by Donovan, Nick Drake and Pentangle, with the psychedelic vibe of the Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Neil Young, producing music that still sounds fresh and relevant, particularly as current bands such as The Decemberists, Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, Gillian Welch with David Rawlings, and the Jayhawks are drawing from the same rich heritage. When much of today's music is inspired by the great bands of the 70's, " Everybody's Own" arrives fully formed and beautifully preserved from that fruitful era, and ripe for rediscovery. STEFANO TOROSSI- Feelings- (ITALY- 1974)- GP1017LP-
Jay Richford & Gary Stevan (aka Stefano Torossi). Exact reissue of the beyond rare Carosello release. A delightful and cinematic groovy crime-jazz-funk album filled with breaks & beats, deep bass, electric piano, flutes, horn stabs, Wah-Wah guitars & exquisite string arrangements reminiscent of Nino Nardini/ Roger Roger’s Stringtonic’s mindbenders but also Janko Nilovic at his best. Definitely one of the holy grails of library music. Fully licensed and limited to 1000 copies on vinyl.

THE BLUES RIGHT OFF- Our blues bag- (ITALY- 1970) GP1015LP-
Among the rarest of Italian's 70's rock scene. Originally a private release from this band formed in Venice around Danish Guitarist Claes Cornelius. All tracks are sung in English, in the best blues tradition with electric guitar solos and high pitched-voice. Reminiscent at times of Canned Heat with a similar voice and flute. Also close in sound to early Ten Years After and John Mayall or even Led Zeppelin playing the blues. Remastered and fully licensed 180 gr vinyl, limited to 500 copies. Listen Here

MARK FRY & THE A. LORDS-- I Lived in Trees- (UK- 2011) SL013LP/GP1014LP-
Recorded in Normandy, Dorset and Oxfordshire, I Lived In Trees is a chamber-folk album of instant, copasetic allure, hallmarked by Mark’s painterly take on existence and memory; its often affecting lyrics, rich in nature metaphors, etched with nostalgia or set in poignant dreamscapes, all leant clarity and an almost Zen-like stillness by the A. Lords. With the aid of Mike Tanner and Nick Palmer & subtle string arrangements by Steve Bentley-Klein as well as adroit mixing by Lemon Jelly’s Nick Franglen. It’s taken a while, but it’s surely been worth it; and unlike Dreaming With Alice, this one won’t need a time machine to find its target audience. TIME WASTERS- Same- (UK- 1978) GP1013LP-
Canterbury style UK fragile folk with psych leanings.
UK album recorded by a group of students at the Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre. The name of the band was actually a joke based on newspaper advertisements for musicians to join bands, which would sometimes end with "No time wasters"! So Greg Holt, the band's founder, called them "Time Wasters Only" and the generic name for any of the musicians in the group became “Time Wasters”. Musically ranging from fragile and melodic folk with Bluesy moments and even soul-jazz vibes, encompased in a psych-folk-rock canterbury signature. DRAGON- Kalahen- (BELGIUM- 1977) GP1009LP- Recorded in 1977, Dragon's second album is in fact a DEMO the band recorded at home with a more atmospheric proggy sound with lots of vibrant Pink Floyd'esque moves, Mellotron, Saxes, flutes, trumpets...including an Epic 18 minutes psychedelic jam on B-Side. MARIO GARCIA- Sr Cisne- (BRAZIL 1982) GP1006LP- Mesmerizing album that is unbelievably still unknown to most collectors! A Latin-rock venture that explores African rooted music of Uruguay with dense percussion, complex time signatures, driving electric guitar solos, and an assertive groove that lies somewhere between wicked funk and psych-prog leanings with long instrumental parts relying on strong bass lines, killer percussion and an ever-present Santana-like electric guitar. Originally released in a tiny run of just a few hundred copies. This is a fully licensed limited reissue of 450 copies in black vinyl with black cover; and 250 in red vinyl with red cover. VESPERO- Liventure #21- (RUSSIA- 2010) GPS001LP- First release in Golden Pavilion’s new “Silver line”. A southern Russian wonder band formed in Astrakhan, playing a blend of dark psychedelic and prog textures with delightful spacey sounding instrumental passages and an underlying krautrock feel. This is the new official live album that features the instrumental highlights of the band's various stage performances in the course of 2009. This collector’s vinyl edition includes an extra track not available anywhere else. PANTA REI- Same- (SWEDEN 1973) GP1004LP- Panta Rei is attributed to Heraticlus thoughts about change. Πάντα ῥεῖ (panta rei) meaning everything flows in ancient Greek. And this is exactly what you get in this album. Originally issued on the Harvest label in 1973, this is a wonderful stream of trippy Heavy Swedish prog with an intensely groovy jazz-rock & fuzz oriented approach that comes close to Frank Zappa circa “Hot rats”, with some spacey-freaked-out atmospheres and an underlying Canterbury feel. The guitar work is predominant and menacing, whereas the all English lyrics and the rich musical texture that feeds on layers of flutes, maracas, timbales, harmonica and impressive percussion, make for a truly majestic album. Exact reissue fully licensed directly by EMI Sweden. Limited to 600 copies in black vinyl and 100 copies in red vinyl. Comes with newly designed coloured labels.

EXPERIENCIA- Passo a passo- (PORTUGAL 1973) GP1002LP- Completely unknown Portuguese LP from 1973 that sounds like a cross between Peruvian psych such as Laghonia & Traffic Sound, and a UK lost gem on Harvest or Deram, with 2 great vocalists, seering guitar and a real groove. This reissue is the second in the Golden Pavilion series, fully licensed, done in association with Acalanto and limited to 450 copies in black vinyl and 100 in coloured golden brown vinyl.

GINO PERTOT- Jew nails- (AUSTRIA 1976) GP1001LP- Finally this lost gem of Austrian psych folk is reissued after being lost for over 34 years! This is probably the RAREST Austrian LP, and one of the most elusive records ever. The music is honest and spontaneous, crossing paths between fragile folk and psychedelic dark undertones with a touch of glam, expressive lyrics and fleeting guitar lines. The 200 copies privately pressed in 1976 (two runs of 100 copies each) were mostly given to friends and sporadically sold at concerts. This reissue is fully licensed, limited to 600 copies in black vinyl and 100 copies in coloured golden brown vinyl. A must for all psych-folk lovers.

YVES RAKOTOMALALA- Ce matin encore- (FRANCE- 1981) GP1008LP- Yves Rakotomalala from the acclaimed “Yves, Serge & Victor” album “Cagibi” recorded this elusive album a few years after he left the group. Musically we are in the same vein as “Cagibi”: A delicate fragile westcoast-tinged psych-folk with acoustic/ electric backing & amazing vocals, very close in sound and style to Neil Young in his “After the gold rush” period. Every track is excellent with one side sung in English and the other in French. Originally released as a private pressing of 200 units. Licensed reissue limited to 300 copies in black vinyl and 200 copies in solid red and gold mixed. Comes with newly designed color labels.

UNIVERIA ZEKT- The Unnamables- (FRANCE 1971) GP1005LP- A mythical MAGMA album recorded in 1971, during the “1000 centigrades” period. The album aims at introducing wider audiences to the Zeuhl feel, with a less hermetic sound, favoring a more groovy jazz-rock approach. Features the vocalist of ERGO SUM on one track as well as Tito Puentes on trumpet, otherwise this is pretty much the same line-up as in their previous album. A few dreamy moments with acoustic guitar and flutes (the track “Clementine”), and other typically dense moments with pulsating bass lines, mad sax and weird Vander screams punctuated by furious drumming with a groovy edge.
